Carolyn Burris White

Funeral services for Carolyn Burris White will be on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Ebenezer Methodist Church in McCall Creek, MS at 12:00 noon with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Toby Jones will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon.

Carolyn White, 85, of McCall Creek, MS went to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 29, 2024.  She was born in Franklin County, MS on January 12, 1939 to the late Leon Burris and Gladys Arnold Burris.  She worked in the cafeteria at Brookhaven Academy for many years and she worked as a seamstress at Stahl-Urban and other garment factories.  She was a long-time member of McCall Creek Baptist Church where she served in many roles including song leader.  For the last few years, Mrs. Carolyn was a member of First Baptist Magee, MS.  Mrs. Carolyn loved gardening, fishing, playing dominoes, putting puzzles together, and taking walks to the fields around her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Gladys Burris, her husband Dennis G. White of 51 years; her sister Bobbie Nell Holland; and her brother Robert Burris.

Survivors include daughter Ophelia Marie Moore (Clarence) of Fayetteville, OH; son Albert White (Charlie) of Magee, MS; grandchildren, Neely Kate White, John Thomas White, Sarah Grace White, and Anna Beth White; and many or family and friends she deeply loved.

Carolyn cherished the times she spent with her family and friends and counted it as a blessing from God.  Even in declining health she always looked forward to the visits from them.

So many people had a hand in caring for Mrs. Carolyn in the last few years.  Her family would like to thank the family, friends, doctors, nurses, caregivers, drivers, and many others who took time to care and serve her.  Even though she will be missed, we know she was loved and that she loved each one of you.
