There will be more traffic than usual this weekend on Industrial Park Road as the Lincoln County Civic Center Baseball Complex hosts a pair of Dixie Youth State Tournaments.

The DII AA Coach Pitch State Tournament has teams from Perry County, West Jasper, Iuka, Walthall County, Puckett, East Feliciana (Louisiana), Seminary, Hatley, Moss Point, Collins, Raleigh, and Lawrence County.

Brackett play begins at 5 p.m. on Friday and the final championship matchups will take place on Sunday, July 14. The winner of the event qualifies to go to the DII AA World Series in Orangeburg, South Carolina on July 25-30.

The DI AA Coach Pitch State Tournament bracket has teams from Yazoo City, Laurel, Hattiesburg, Pike County, Ellisville, Pascagoula, Pontotoc, Franklin County, Kosciusko, Columbia, and Vancleave.

The host team, representing Lincoln County, will get their bracket started on Friday, July 12 with a 8 p.m. matchup against Kosciusko. Like the other bracket, play will conclude on Sunday with the championship games.
