The good times continue to roll for Copiah-Lincoln CC softball as the school cut the ribbon to officially open the new press box/concession stand in Wesson on Thursday.
The reigning NJCAA national champs will now have use of a 3,100 square foot building with a concession stand, restrooms, coach’s offices, laundry and storage on the first floor. On the second floor are media rooms for home and visitors, a player’s lounge/meeting room, restrooms and a hospitality suite that includes a president’s box.
The structure was built on the site of the former concession stand/press box and reconfigures the seating of the ballpark. With the completion of the $1 million dollar project, CLCC will have 51 chair back seats and new bleachers that will seat 143 fans.
“We are thrilled to open this newly renovated facility for the Lady Wolves softball program,” said CLCC president Dr. Dewayne Middleton in a release from the school. “Thank you to our Board of Trustees, our chairman Melton King, all our corporate sponsors, and our private donors who helped make this upgrade possible. This is a major step in moving our softball program and the college forward. We are excited to start the season at this impressive facility. Let’s go Lady Wolves!”
Co-Lin is scheduled to play for the first time at the new facility on Feb. 27 against Baton Rouge Community College.
