Chilly mornings, frost forecast for this week

BROOKHAVEN — Residents might want to find their thick jackets, earmuffs and hand warmers. The next few morning will be pretty chilly as National Weather Service in Jackson forecasts widespread frost.
Wednesday is forecast to be mostly sunny warming the temperatures to a high of 60. Gusts of wind could reach 20 mph and have sustained speeds of 5-to-10 mph.
Wednesday night has a good chance of frosty conditions. Frost will be widespread. Temperatures will drop to a low of 30 degrees and wind out of the northwest will breeze at sustained winds of 5mph. Clear night skies allow heat to escape the earth’s surface which is one reason the temperatures will drop 30 degrees.
Frost will linger until around 9 a.m. Thursday morning. It will be a sunny day but the high will only warm up to 49 degrees. Wind speeds will be 5 to 10 mph out of the northwest with gusts reaching 20 mph.
Widespread frost will return Thursday evening mostly after 1 a.m. on Friday. The low will drop down to 29 degrees. Frost is forecast to linger until 9.a.m. Friday morning. Temperatures will be 50 degrees with sunny skies. Wind gusts again will be around 20 mph and sustained winds between 5 to 10 mph. Friday night will cool off to a low of 29 degrees.
Jack Frost is forecast to visit again with frost forming early Saturday morning around 1 a.m. and lingering until 8 a.m. The high will be 54 with sunny skies Saturday.
