Mark your calendars: Businesses, churches host events this week

BROOKHAVEN — Christmas is almost here and local businesses are starting to celebrate. Mark your calendars for business events on Friday and Saturday.
Butterfield Mansion will technically kick off the weekend festivities with an open house Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The open house is sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices Cabin and Creek Real Estate. Butterfield is located at 412 Storm Avenue in Brookhaven.
A2Z Printing announced it will conduct a ribbon cutting at 633 Brookway Boulevard in Brookhaven Friday. The event will also be an open house for the company from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests are welcome to come and go as they can. A2Z’s ribbon cutting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday.
Mason and Magnolia’s will host an annual kids Christmas event Saturday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. People are invited to bring their kids to the Brookhaven Exchange Club Park for a free event. Kids are able to ride rides, eat snacks and watch Home Alone on the big screen. Children have the opportunity to get their picture taken with Kevin McCallister or the wet bandits.
Churches also have some events planned this weekend. New Sight Baptist Church will host a drive thru nativity from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday night at 2404 New Sight Drive. Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church will also host a live nativity from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 2093 Chapel Drive in Summit.
Grace Community Church will host a kids Christmas parade. Line-up is 10:45 a.m. at 400 Vivian Merritt St. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and end at Grace Community Church, where refreshments will be provided. For more information, call 601-695-4255.
