BROOKHAVEN — Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M announced they are working an accident on I-55 Friday morning. The left southbound lane is open to traffic now.

Both southbound lanes at mile marker 40 were temporarily blocked originally.

MHP asks people to avoid this area if possible. Delays could be expected otherwise. Use extreme caution driving in this area.
