One suspect has been arrested and another is sought by police in connection with an Oct. 24 carjacking.
At approximately 5 a.m. that Tuesday, a group of young women was carjacked at gunpoint at the Union Street Truck Stop. Chief Kenneth Collins said no one was injured, and officers were working “some good leads.”
Later that week, Collins said one suspect was arrested and charged with armed carjacking. He was booked into the Lincoln County Jail.
Chief Collins said the Brookhaven Police Department has a warrant to serve on another individual who has charges pending in the matter.
Collins declined to release the names of the individuals at this time, due to the ongoing nature of the investigation. More updates will be released as the case progresses, he said.
