Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Spencer Mooney, of Brookhaven, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Harbour Mooney, to John David Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Donald Wood Jr., of Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Calvin Pierce of Huntsville, Alabama, the late Mr. Bruce Holmes Brady, of Brookhaven, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Francis Mooney Jr., of Clarksdale.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Leroy Millsaps of Copperhill, TN, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Donald Wood Sr. Of Memphis, TN.

Miss Mooney is a 2017 home education graduate and a 2021 graduate of the University of Mississippi where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Audiology at the University of Memphis.

Mr. Wood is a 2017 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He attended Auburn University where he graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Software Engineering. He is presently employed with FedEx in Memphis, TN where he works as a software developer.

The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at The Jefferson in Oxford, Mississippi. A reception will be held following the ceremony.
