WESSON — Gwyn Young has been the head coach of the Co-Lin women’s basketball team for the past 47 years and won over 1,000 games with the club. However this year was his final year in the position. He said he would not be the head coach next year Tuesday afternoon.

Young missed some games this year due to medical problems but finished out the year strong. He was previously a basketball player for the Wolves when he came through Co-Lin Community College. 

Co-Lin Athletics has yet to update its Staff Directory to show Young has left his position nor has the college published a press release announcing his departure or the hiring of a would-be replacement. Phone calls to Athletic Director Bryan Nobile, one made Tuesday and one made in early May, went straight to voicemail and have not been returned.

Young said he is not sure what he is doing next but will share more when he is ready.
