BROOKHAVEN — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Lincoln County and the surrounding area Monday afternoon. Hail, winds and lighting are possible this afternoon.

NWS Jackson warns scattered hail could get up to two inches in size with frequent lighting and scattered gusts up to 70 mph. The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday night.

Severe weather is forecast to hit Lincoln County and Southwest Mississippi throughout the week. Check back as we provide updates before, during and after storms hit our area.
