Enterprise on to MHSAA 1A softball second round via sweep

The first round of the MHSAA 1A softball playoffs were light work for the Enterprise Yellow Jackets as they swept a Saturday double header from West Boliver — 18-0 and 19-1 — to move on to the second round.
Sophomore Miranda Anderson pitched the win in the 18-0 game one victory. Andrson threw a 3-inning perfect game by striking out seven of the nine batters she faced and getting strikes on 27 of the 44 pitches she threw.
The Jackets had eight of their 16 hits go for extra bases with four doubles and four triples.
Hailey Reeves, Harleigh Clark, Mallory Honea and Anderson each hit a double. Terra Vining, Isabella Jordan, Caitlin Case and Natalie Williams all hit a triple apiece for coach Alicia Smith.
Anderson drove in five runs, while Vinning and Williams had three RBIs each.
Vining pitched the win in game two and struck out four while not giving up a hit in two innings. Callie Beth Stuart pitched one inning and struck out three while not allowing a hit.
In game two, nine of the 18 hits for EAC went for extra bases.
Gracie Williams, Brie Malone, Caitlin Case, Honea and Anderson hit a double each. Vinning smacked two triples while Anderson and Layton Price hit a triple apiece.
Williams drove in two runs in game two.
Enterprise (19-8) moves on to face Richton (7-10) in the second round.
