BROOKHAVEN — A forecast from the National Weather Service office in Jackson warns of strong winds and severe storms this week. Winds are expected to reach sustained speeds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 to 40 mph. Right now the at risk area does not include Lincoln County but does include Copiah County.

The timing for strong winds will be from this late morning into the evening. Be careful if you are driving a high profile vehicle as strong winds could be a risk.

Wednesday afternoon and night could be a frightening one. Lincoln County is in a marginal risk area for strong rain, hail, damaging winds and tornadoes could be possible.
