BROOKHAVEN — NASA’s International Space Station flew across the sky last night and was pretty visible at about 7:40 p.m. or so. If you missed the chance to see the space station do not worry you will likely have a chance to see it again.

The space station orbits the globe every 90 minutes but several conditions have to be right for you to see the station. First, it has to be dark as the station’s reflected light isn’t bright enough like the moon, it must be dawn or dusk to reflect the sunlight and it must be 40 degrees or more above the horizon to be visible. This means the station can be seen multiple times in a week or as few as once a month.

It was visible Monday through Friday this week. Visit spotthestation.nasa.gov to see the next chances you have to spot the International Space Station.
