A doctor-nurse team is behind one of the three medical cannabis dispensaries licensed by the state to operate in Brookhaven.

Dr. Dennis Sanders Jr. and his wife, a registered nurse, plan to open Magnolia Greens dispensary in the city in the fall. They are hoping for an October open date.

Sanders obtained a state dispensary license Aug. 1, and is applying for a license to operate within the City of Brookhaven.

Sanders told Jackson-area news media that they are working to gather the appropriate products to ensure patients get the services they need. He said they want customers to feel comfortable, as if they are in a doctor’s facility.

“We have one of the biggest spaces in the surrounding area, and one of the safest locations, found directly next to the police department,” Sanders said. “I’m excited to start this business.”

Magnolia Greens will be located at 101 Whitebrook Drive off Hwy. 51 S, just south of Halbert Heights Road.
