Mississippi Sales Tax Holiday is July 29-30

The time is coming for parents of students to buy what they need for school — with no sales tax added.
The 2022 Sales Tax Holiday in Mississippi is an annual holiday from sales tax on certain purchases. It begins 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 29, and ends at midnight Saturday, July 30.
The holiday applies to the purchase of clothing, footwear or school supplies if the sales price of a single item is less than $100.
“Clothing” refers to any article of apparel designed to be worn on the human body, including pants, shirts, blouses, dresses, coats, jackets, belts, hats, undergarments and multiple piece garments sold as a set.
“Footwear” is any article of apparel for human feet except for skis, swim fins, roller blades, skates or similar items.
“School supplies” are items commonly used by a student in a course of study.
“Accessories” are not eligible — jewelry, handbags, luggage, umbrellas, wallets, watches, briefcases, etc.
