Copiah-Lincoln sophomore pitcher Cera Blanchard recently capped her honor filled career in
Wesson with NJCAA Division II All-American accolades along with signing a letter-of-intent to
next play at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.
Blanchard finished the season with a 1.37 earned run average. She gave up just 37 earned runs
and put up a 25-6 overall record for the MACCC state champions from Co-Lin.
The native of Metairie, Louisiana also produced at the plate for CLCC coach Meleah Howard.
Blanchard hit a team best 11 doubles along with two home runs and drove in 23 runs for the
Wolves.
A graduate of De La Salle High, Blanchard has been named MACCC Pitcher of the Year along
with an impressive list of other awards following her sophomore season.
As a freshman, she went 15-4 in the circle for Co-Lin.
“What an unbelievable career Cera has had over the last two years,” said Howard in a release by the school. “She has led our team to new heights and we’re just so thankful that she chose to
come be a part of Co-Lin softball. We look forward to watching her continue her career at
Southeastern and know that she’ll continue to represent our program at a high level.”
SLU head softball coach Rick Fremin saw his team post the best record in school history in 2022 with a 40-16 mark. The Lions were beaten for the Southland Conference Tournament title by McNeese State in May.
