Southwest MS under tornado watch

Lincoln County remains under a tornado watch — which is in effect for all of central and south Mississippi — until 7 p.m.
Approximately 11,000 customers were without power across Mississippi as of 1:15 p.m., including more than 580 in Lincoln County, fewer than 100 in Franklin County and more than 2,600 in Adams and Jefferson counties combined.
National Weather Service radar showed areas of severe thunderstorms from Wesson north to Jackson, with a severe thunderstorm warning southeastern Copiah County, northern Lawrence County and central Simpson County until 2:30 p.m.
As of 1:26 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from new Hopewell to six miles southwest of Sontag, moving northeast at 30 mph.
Wind gusts of up to 60 mph have been reported, and quarter-size hail has been indicated by radar.
