Rev. Daniel Rushing

Rev. Daniel Rushing was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, on June 26, 1976, and passed away in Beaumont, Texas, on February 24, 2022, at the age of 45.

He grew up in Lincoln County, Mississippi and was a 1994 graduate of West Lincoln High School. Daniel loved working with his hands and especially all things to do with the construction of buildings and houses. He built a church in the country of Mexico. He was an ordained minister and career missionary with United Pentecostal Church International. During his time on the mission field, Daniel traveled to the Baltic States, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. He loved the Word of God and was like a Bible dictionary for his family and friends. His burden and passion was for South Korea where he and his wife were currently serving as missionaries. He had a love for God and preaching the message of Acts 2:38 throughout the world. Daniel loved his wife, Monica, and he adored their three-year-old daughter, Estella Grace. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He played an important role in each of their lives and they never doubted his love for them.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Rushing; daughter, Estella Grace Rushing; parents, Melton Rushing and JoAnne Adams Rushing, brother, Ben Rushing and wife, Lori; sisters, Runda and husband, David Walker and Teresa and husband, Keith Jordan; father-in-law, Joseph Majhor, brothers-in-law, Joseph Majhor and wife, Wendy; Jared Majhor and wife, Kirby; sisters-in-law Melissa DeLuna and husband, Gilbert; Brittany Nasseri; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Stella Majhor.
The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 and the funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022. The visitation and funeral will be held at Bethel Temple Church 1610 Caleb Dr. SE, Brookhaven, MS. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery, 946 George Trail SW, Brookhaven, MS, under the direction of Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth St., DeQuincy, Louisiana.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to build a church in Asia dedicated to the memory of Daniel Rushing.
