Update: Lockdown lifted at Jefferson Davis County Schools; Lawrence County School still under lockdown

The lockdown as been lifted at all Jefferson Davis County Schools after a sweep of all campuses by law enforcement officials and school resource officers deemed the schools safe, according to The Prentiss Headlight.
The lockdown was lifted just after 11 a.m.
All schools in the Jefferson Davis County School District were on lockdown Wednesday morning after a threat was posted on Facebook.
“Y’all better not send yall kids I’m doing a school shoot out at jdc elementary” was posted under the account name unkno_wn13658. “We are going to do and will continue to do every thing in our power to keep the students and staff safe in Jefferson Davis County, said JDC Superintendent Ike Haynes.
Officials have asked that anyone with information regarding this matter, please call the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department at 601-793-5169.
Meanwhile, students at Lawrence County Schools remain under lockdown after a threat was made on social media this morning.
The schools were placed in lockdown about 11:30 a.m., according to officials, after a social media post indicated a threat to the high school.
