Patsy Beck Warren

Patsy Beck Warren, of Brookhaven, Mississippi passed away September 27, 2021, at home. Visitation will be held at Brookhaven Funeral Home on September 30, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The service will be at First Baptist Church on October 1, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Patsy was born in Canton, Mississippi on May 28, 1937 to Olian Oscar and Alma Albritton Beck. After the family moved to Brookhaven, she attended school there, graduating from Brookhaven High School in 1955. During her high school years she played clarinet in the marching band and also performed as a majorette. She attended Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus, Mississippi, then began her 37-year career as a secretary. In 1994, she retired from Entergy (Mississippi Power & Light), where she worked for 27 years.

First Baptist Church in Brookhaven was blessed to have Patsy and Kenneth as active members, where they were married on December 20, 1958. Patsy served as a Sunday School teacher for the youth, as well as the young adult women. She participated in the church orchestra, playing clarinet, was a member of the LLL Senior Citizen Group, assisted with Operation Christmas Child, and visited the village of La Nariz in Sonoyta, Sonora, Mexico annually for 23 years as part of the mission team.

Family members who preceded Patsy in death were her parents, Olian Oscar and Alma Beck; her father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Alice Warren; brother-in-law, Robert Martin Scholtes; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Paul Jackson; and brother-in-law Gerald Moak.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth Warren and her children: Scott and Cathy Warren, Jody and Greg Hoff, Brooks and Amanda Warren, Beck and Angie Warren.

She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren:  Kern and Emily — Katherine and William Hoff; Kensy and Bill — Jon, Meg, Lil and Alice Allbritton; Peyton and Brittney — Will and Allie Peyton Warren; Kay and Chris — Kaylynn, Cara, Kylie and Christopher Jarancik; Mason and Brooklyn — Miller and Rhett Warren; Elliott and Molly — and Anne Warren; Lydia and Glenn — and Ellie James McLaughlin; Madison Warren; Bailey Warren; Sarah Rice and Keaton Halbert; Fisher Warren; and Anne Brantley Warren.

Other survivors include her sister, Hilda Scholtes, brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and Mary Jim Beck, and sister-in-law, Patsy Moak.

The family expresses appreciation to her caregiver, Tasha Brown, The Aspen of Brookhaven, and Compassus.
