The Brookhaven Academy senior duo of Makayla Martin and Madi Smith were recently selected as MAIS All-Stars in soccer and softball, respectively.

Martin is the daughter of Brad and Amber Martin. A four-year member of the Lady Cougar soccer program, the speedy Martin was one of the leading goal scorers for the team over her career. Martin is also a standout basketball player. Wednesday she suited up in the MAIS All-Star soccer match held at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.

Smith wasn’t able to play in the softball all-star game that same day, as an injury ended her senior season prematurely. A standout corner infielder and pitcher, Smith has been a pillar of the Lady Cougar softball program since she joined the team in junior high. The daughter of Dusty and Dee Dee Smith, she’s a Southwest Mississippi C.C. softball commit.
