Local teams ready for regular football season

West Lincoln, Bogue Chitto, Enterprise, Loyd Star, Brookhaven Academy and Wesson all had scrimmages Friday.

In their quarter facing each other, West Lincoln and Bogue Chitto ended in a scoreless tie. Enterprise topped the Bears 6-0 in a quarter of action. Loyd Star finished its quarter against Enterprise up 7-6 and saw Bogue Chitto leading 6-0 after their 12-minute session.

At Brookhaven Academy, the Cougars faced Silliman Institute in two quarters. BA ran past Silliman 17-6 in 24 minutes of action. At Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Wesson outscored Tylertown 24-19 in a controlled scrimmage.

The regular season kicks off for all MAIS and MHSAA teams this week with games being played Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the area.
