The West Lincoln Bears (3-8) saw their season come to an end in the opening round of the MHSAA 2A playoffs on Friday night with a 55-6 loss to the Pelahatchie Chiefs (11-1).
Pelahatchie — who was just 6-6 last season and 2-8 in 2016 — led 21-0 after the first quarter and 34-0 at halftime.
West Lincoln concludes the 2018 season with the first consecutive post season births in school history. The Bears had a four-man senior class and will return two 1,000-yard rushers in 2019.
Pelahatchie will host Bay Springs next week in a second-round matchup.
