You voted. We listened.

The 2018 Daily Leader Reader’s Choice Award winners were chosen by readers who voted using a ballot printed in the newspaper. Many votes were cast online as well.

Inside today’s edition of The Daily Leader, you’ll find the Best of the Best Reader’s Choice Awards publication, which recognizes the best of what Brookhaven and Lincoln County have to offer.

Votes were tallied in more than 100 categories to select first- and second-place winners.

Read through the pages of lists and you’ll find who your neighbors consider to be the Best Physician, the Best Breakfast, the Best Photographer and many others.

Spoiler alert: It’s William Hay, Dude’s and Johnny Smith. Check out the special publication to find out who else won, including the Business of the Year.

“We thank you for voting and we congratulate those who won,” said Publisher Luke Horton. “It says a lot when your customers select you as the ‘best’ in any category.”

First-place winners received a certificate in honor of their accomplishment and bragging rights for the next year.

One lucky reader was chosen at random from all the ballots submitted for the contest. Cindy Townsend of Brookhaven won $250 just for sharing her favorites with us.
