Lawrence, BHS host South State Tuesday night

The Brookhaven High Lady Panthers will host Wayne County Tuesday night in the MHSAA Division III Slow-Pitch South State Finals at 5 p.m. in Brookhaven.

The Lady Panthers and War Eagles will play a three-game series, with the winner going on to the state championship to face the winner of Northwest Rankin and Neshoba Central.

The Lawrence County Lady Cougars are also hosting a home series tonight, as they play Newton County in Monticello for the MHSAA Division II Slow-Pitch South State Championship.

The Lady Cougars clinched their place in the finals with a sweep of Northeast Lauderdale on Saturday. Lawrence County took game one 14-0 and needed extra innings to clinch the series with a 14-13 win in game two.

The Lawrence County and Newton County series also begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday night.
