Funeral services for Brookhaven police officer James Kevin White, of Sontag, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Easthaven Baptist Church with burial at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today, Oct. 2, 2018, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Easthaven and will resume Wednesday at 9 a.m., two hours prior to services at the church.

Mr. White, 35, died Saturday, Sept, 29, 2018. He was born on July 7, 1983, in Brookhaven, to James Darrell White and Laurie Maxwell White.

Officer White honorably served his country in the Army National Guard in Operation Enduring Iraq Freedom. He then became a police officer serving at the Brookhaven Police Department where he laid down his life for his community serving in the line of duty.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, J.C. White Jr. and Sally Turnage White.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, father, James Darrell White; mother Laurie Maxwell White and stepfather, Steve White; sons, James Curtis “J.C.” White and James “Lee” Edward White; fiancé, Elizebeth “Liz” Howell; sister, Lisa “Wese” White and Trey McBlair; special honorary brother, Dustin Vanderslice; stepsister, Leslie Kelly; stepbrother, Yaun White; nieces and nephews, Holly and Leiana Thornell, Colton Thornell, Sidnie and Stevie Henderson and Maggie and Hannah White; grandparents, Curtis and Nadine Maxwell and Margaret Pitre along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and brothers and sisters in uniform.
