A teenager died Saturday evening following a one-vehicle crash on Smith Lake Road, authorities said.
Kolbie Humphries, 16, of Brookhaven, died at King’s Daughters Medical Center Saturday shortly after the wreck, Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said.
The teen was a passenger in the front seat of the 2003 Ford F-150. Rushing said it appears the truck was headed west on Smith Lake Road and crossed over the left lane, struck a tree and rolled near Callender Road.
The call came in to 911 shortly before 6 p.m.
The 15-year-old male driver and two backseat passengers, the driver’s 12- and 7-year-old brothers, were transported to KDMC, he said.
Rushing said the accident remains under investigation.
