RIDGELAND (AP) — Police say a man shot his former girlfriend and a second man outside a central nursing home, wounding both.
Ridgeland Police Chief John Neal tells local media that the second man was waiting to pick up the woman from work when the ex-boyfriend showed up early Thursday morning. After a disturbance, Neal says the ex-boyfriend shot the other two people.
The second man, shot multiple times, is seriously wounded. The woman, shot once in the lower body, is less seriously wounded.
Police haven’t released the names of anyone involved. They’re looking for the first man, who left after the shooting, and Neal urges him to surrender to police.
Neal says residents at Highland Home, which provides nursing and rehabilitation, were never in danger.
