Zaxby’s, a fast-food, casual dining chicken restaurant, is coming to Brookhaven.

The restaurant is set to open next to Waffle House on Brookway Boulevard in the spring, according to Brookhaven Building Inspector David Fearn.

“The water, sewer and property lines have all been marked off,” Fearn said. “I know the investors have given their money to Zaxby’s and they have agreed to it.”

The owners are from Brookhaven but have not been identified in property records.

The restaurant plans to break ground in December and should employ between 10-20 full- and part-time employees.

“It’s just a matter of a month or so before I get the plans and then they will start construction. We’re looking forward to it,” said Fearn.

Zaxby’s offers a variety of items on its menu such as chicken wings, chicken fingers, sandwiches and salads. 

The company has more than 800 locations in 18 states. It is headquartered in Athens, Georgia.
