Ole Brook and Wesson get 2 wins each in tournament

Ole Brook hosted its slow pitch softball tournament Saturday.
Brookhaven took home two victories against Bogue Chitto and Pearl. Wesson’s Lady Cobras took two wins, as well, against Bogue Chitto and Warren Central.
Lawrence County fell to Northwest Rankin but brought home a victory against Pearl.
Brookhaven 8, Bogue Chitto 7
The Lady Panthers scored first on a two-run RBI by Rileigh Allen. Jadeyn Fuller followed with an RBI single. The Lady Panthers tacked on one more run on a sacrifice fly before the Lady Bobcats were able to record the final out. The Lady Panthers added to their lead in the bottom of the second on a sacrifice fly RBI by Allen.
The Lady Bobcats found themselves on the board in the third inning, on an RBI double. Leading 5-1 heading into the fourth inning, the Lady Panthers scored two more runs off of a two-run home run. Trailing 7-1, the Lady Bobcats attempted a comeback rally in the sixth inning, scoring five runs. Each team scored one run in the seventh inning, with the Lady Panthers coming out on top with a final score of 8-7.
Wesson 13, Warren Central 3
The Wesson Cobras came out hot as they scored six runs to start the game. The Warren Central Lady Vikings managed to get on the board in the bottom of the second, scoring two runs.
The Lady Cobras added to their lead in the fourth, scoring five runs. The Lady Vikings scored their final run of the game in the bottom of the fourth. The Wesson Lady Cobras walked away with a 13-3 victory.
Bogue Chitto 15, Wesson 17
The Lady Cats and the Lady Cobras kept their game close until the bottom of the third. Trailing 5-2 heading into the bottom of the third, the Wesson Lady Cobras rallied from behind, scoring 10 runs. The Lady Cats attempted to close the gap in the fourth inning, scoring three runs, and keeping Wesson off the board. The Lady Cats trailed 8-12, scoring once in the fifth inning and six runs in the sixth inning. The Lady Cobras’ five-run fifth inning secured their 17-15 win over Bogue Chitto.
Lawrence County 12, Northwest Rankin 18
The Northwest Rankin Lady Cougars jumped ahead of the Lawrence County Lady Cougars in the first inning, scoring five runs. Lawrence County pulled within one, 5-4, in the top of the second. Ashley Holden got things started with a run-batted-in sacrifice fly ball. Josey Nations followed with a three-run homerun.
Northwest Rankin added to their lead in the second, scoring four runs. In the top of the third, Lawrence County scored two runs. Kaitlin Wallace hit an RBI single. Abbie Errington followed with an RBI single of her own.
Northwest Rankin scored two runs of their own in the third off of a two-run homerun. Trailing 11-6 heading into the fourth inning, Lawrence County cut into the lead, scoring three runs, as Ty Davis hit a two-run homer. Sydney Pevey followed with a homerun of her own.
Northwest Rankin scored four runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth. Attempting a comeback, Lawrence County scored three times in the sixth, as both Davis and Pevey hit homeruns again. Northwest Rankin scored one run in the sixth to take the game by a final score of 18-12.
Brookhaven 11, Pearl 1
The Lady Panthers scored first, scoring one run off an RBI sacrifice fly ball by Rileigh Allen. Ole Brook kept the Lady Pirates scoreless until the fourth inning, while adding five more runs in the third. The Lady Pirates scored their only run of the game in the fourth inning off of a homerun. Ole Brook scored five more runs in their half of the fifth, to win 11-1.
Lawrence County 12, Pearl 0
Lawrence County got things going in the first inning, scoring six runs. Ty Davis started with an RBI triple. Maddux Kirkland followed with an RBI single. With the bases loaded, Kaitlin Wallace hit a two-run RBI single. The Lady Cougars scored again on a fielder’s choice RBI by Abbie Errington. Raylee Ready brought in the final run of the inning on a RBI sacrifice.
The Lady Cougars added to their lead in the fourth, scoring four runs. Josey Nations led off with a walk-off homerun. Kaitlin Wallace followed with a three-run homerun. The Lady Cougars scored two more times in the third. With the bases loaded, Maddux Kirkland brought in the final runs of the game on a two-run fielder’s choice.
