It’s time for millennials to relax and socialize.
The Brookhaven Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce will kick off its Third Thursday for young professionals again on Aug. 17.
“We started this event last year,” said Jillian Ricceri, membership director of the Chamber. “We took the summer off, but our plans moving forward are to have this event every month.”
The purpose is for young professionals in the community to get together after work and network with each other. Co-workers, friends and spouses are invited.
“We also have several people that have moved here from out of town. This is a great way to meet other people in the community,” Ricceri said.
Georgia Blue Bakery will host the event, which will be from 5-8 p.m. They’ll be offering discounts for Third Thursday participants. There will be live music and a full menu.
“This is a fun thing to look forward to after work, especially on Thursday nights because it’s almost the weekend,” Ricceri said.
Restaurants that are Chamber members are eligible to host the event. Last year host sites were Georgia Blue, Betty’s Eat Shop, Magnolia Blues Barbecue Co. and Pappas Pizza Pi. To host an event, call the Chamber at 601-833-1411.
“We had a lot of success with these social events last year. We’re really looking forward to expanding this to every month,” Ricceri said. “We need people to come out and continue to support activities like this. This is a great way to meet people and support the local restaurants and community.”
