Royce Bullock

Graveside services for Royce Bullock, of Pearl, are Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 10 a.m. until noon at McLaurin Heights Baptist Church in Pearl where he was a member. 

Mr. Bullock, 80, died Monday, July 24, 2017, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was born Dec. 8, 1936, to Lias Rowan and Mary Bullock, of Brookhaven. He is a graduate of Brookhaven High School and Copiah-Lincoln Junior College. He served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for several years at Paul Truitt Memorial Baptist Church in Pearl. He accepted Christ in August of 1949.

In 2008, he wrote to his family: “Be happy because I have been looking forward to this day since that August night in 1949. Now I can go take up residency in that domain; that beautiful home I was promised by my Lord.”

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Willie Vee Cotton, Dorothy Fields and Joe Bullock.

Survivors are Sally, his wife of 59 years; sons, Roland Bullock (Galen Colbert), Robert Bullock (Kami) and Bill Bullock (Amy); brothers, Boyce Bullock (Bonita) and Ray Bullock (Cornelia); sister, Tera Lee Foster; and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
