William Dennis Calcote

Funeral services for William Dennis Calcote, of Brookhaven, are Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.

Visitation will be today, July 25, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

There will be a graveside service for the immediate family following the service at Calcote Family Cemetery.

Mr. Calcote, 65, died Thursday, July 20, 2017. He was born Feb. 17, 1952, in Brookhaven to William Richard Calcote and Mary Lydia Lofton Calcote. He graduated from Franklin County High School. After high school, he attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College and received an associates of arts degree. He also earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mississippi College, master’s degree in business administration from Alcorn State University and also completed a course of study of theology from Millsaps College. Along with being a dairy farmer for over 30 years, he also was a part-time pastor for 13 years. He served as a Franklin County Supervisor District 4, worked for the Mississippi State Employment Service and was working for the Mississippi Department of Health, first as a Food Inspector and currently as a dairy inspector. He also was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death was his father; father-in-law, Clyde P. Jones Sr.; stepbrother, Mike Stubbs; nephew, Rusty Stubbs; granddaughter, Layla Grace Calcote and brother-in- law, Roy Smith.

Survivors are his wife of 42+ years, Brenda Kaye Jones Calcote; mother; sons, Kenneth Calcote, Paul Calcote and wife Angie and Daniel Calcote; mother-in-law, Mildred Jones; brothers, Douglas Calcote and wife Becky, Clyde Jones Jr. and wife Ann, Jerry Stubbs and wife Gloria; sisters, Lucille Smith, Christine Perry and husband Lester and Joyce Stubbs; two grandchildren, Austin Sinclair and Waylon Calcote; great-granddaughter, Samantha Sinclair, along with numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. William Dennis Calcote’s memory to the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Eddie Hunter, 2288 Lucien Rd South SE, Brookhaven, MS, 39601.

A food reception will be provided and served at Bethel United Methodist Church at noon following the services at the funeral home. The family wishes for everyone to attend.
