BHS tennis earns tough victory Tuesday against Germantown

The Ole Brook tennis team moved to 5-2 on the season with a hard fought win over Germantown Tuesday afternoon with a 4-3 overall match victory.
Their only two losses of the season have come against 6A opponents, as the Panthers have been very impressive over the course of the season.
The Panthers would lose both singles matches, but rallied in doubles play to win four of the five matches to claim the victory.
In boys’ singles, Wallace Brewer of Germantown defeated Daniel Panzica of Brookhaven in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
In girls’ singles, Sara Munoz of Germantown defeated Abbigail Jones of Brookhaven in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.
When doubles play started, that’s when things started to turn around for the Panthers.
In the first boys’ doubles match, Will Moak and Dalton Fortado of Brookhaven took down Jacob Bell and Reid Lott of Germantown in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
In the second boys’ doubles match, Braxton Wallis and Michael Haynes Hutson of Brookhaven defeated Logan Nowell and Carson Ewing of Germantown in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
In the first girls’ doubles match, Crawford Pieroni and Hannah Johnson of Germantown defeated Sarah Grace Evans and Maggie Massengill of Brookhaven in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.
In the second girls’ doubles match, Alice Anne Walker and Lea Allen of Brookhaven defeated Melaan Bender and M.K. Nowell of Germantown in straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
In mixed doubles, Mackenzie Jackson and Cooper Patterson of Brookhaven took down Andi Duran and Zach Weaver of Germantown in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.
The next match for the Brookhaven tennis team is at home Thursday against Clinton.
