Ole Brook tennis wins district title

The Ole Brook tennis team clinched the district championship Thursday evening with the 6-1 overall match victory over Natchez.
The only loss of the match for Brookhaven came in girls’ singles, where Kirdis Clark of Natchez defeated Maddie Boyte of Brookhaven in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
The rest of the match went smooth sailing for the Panthers, as they would win the other six matches to claim the district title.
In boys’ singles, Daniel Panzica of Brookhaven took care of Vincent Bonds of Natchez in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
In boys’ doubles, Will Moak and Dalton Fortado of Brookhaven won over Jarren Davis and Raheem Givens of Natchez in straight sets 6-0, 6-4.
In the other boys’ doubles match, Braxton Wallis and Michael Haynes Hutson of Brookhaven defeated Larry Campbell and Amar Weir of Natchez in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.
In girls’ doubles, Sarah Grace Evans and Maggie Massengill of Brookhaven won over Kelsey McNeil and Danyel Weir of Natchez in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
In the other girls’ doubles match, Alice Anne Walker and Lea Allen of Brookhaven Keari Hayes and Kya Singleton of Natchez in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.
In mixed doubles, Cooper Patterson and Mackenzie Johnson of Brookhaven defeated Jaylon Grennell and Terrance Binson of Natchez in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
The Ole Brook junior varsity tennis team also got the match win over Natchez by a score of 5-1.
Ole Brook falls to Warren Central
On Wednesday, the Ole Brook tennis team fell to 6A opponent Warren Central in the overall match by a score of 5-2.
One of the wins in the match came from Daniel Panzica of Brookhaven in boys’ singles over Alez Valazquez of Warren Central 1-6, 6-4, 1-0.
The other win came in boys’ doubles when Will Moak and Dalton Fortado of Brookhaven defeated Jack Richardson John Jabour of Warren Central in straight sets 7-5, 7-6.
The rest of the match would go to the Warren Central Vikings.
