Throughout the month of November, the Lincoln Lawrence Franklin Regional Library will host an exhibit of art from service participants of Boswell Regional Center’s Expressive Arts program.

Boswell Regional Center is one of five regional facilities in the state established to treat those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Boswell Regional Center operates under the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, which provides a continuum of care and services for thousands of Mississippians with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The center’s main facility is located off Hwy. 49 in Magee. Other facilities operated by Boswell are located in Mendenhall, Brookhaven, Wesson and Hazlehurst.

The Expressive Arts Program is directed by Claire Bevell.  Boswell Service recipients in Magee, Wesson and Brookhaven have the opportunity at least once a week to experience art-making and music-making in the therapeutic Expressive Arts program. Each piece of art developed in the program is beautiful, interesting and unique.  All who attend the exhibit should expect an amazing, happy, and heart-touching experience.

Boswell Regional Center Expressive Arts Department will host a reception for some of the Boswell artists and for all of the Brookhaven and surrounding community on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
