The Loyd Star boys soccer team fell to the Brookhaven Panthers 5-0 Thursday. 

The Hornets were unable to find a goal but their defense worked hard in spite of a few injuries. Captain Brantley Brister led the defense with seven clearances and five blocked shots followed by captain Bryson Brister with seven clearances, Brandon Lang with five clearances, Lee Thomas with four clearances and two blocked shots, and captain Dylan Smith with three clearances and three blocked shots. Goalie Cullen Keene had an outstanding debut in the goal with 13 saves.

The Loyd Star Lady Hornets beat the Brookhaven Lady Panthers 5-0. 

The Lady Hornets were led offensively by senior captain Leslie Walker with three goals, senior Ashlyn Locke with one goal, captain Madisyn Brister with one goal and one assist, and senior captain Shelby Smith with one assist. 

The Lady Hornet defense was led by senior captain Mikayla Warren with five clearances, Morgyn Brister with eight clearances, Tabby Wyatt with seven clearances, Hannah Michele with four clearances and Courtney Wyatt with six clearances. Goalie Polly Patterson held a shutout with four saves.
