Funeral services for J.D. Hall, of Summit, will be Monday, Oct.17, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Jones Family Funeral Home in McComb, with burial in Shady Grove Cemetery. Rev. Tom Burris will officiate.
Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Hall, 79, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at his residence. He was born on May 25, 1937, in Lincoln County to Ealon Jarrette Hall and Allie Modelle Waldrop Hall.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He worked in the oilfield, serving many companies in management positions. He was a very sweet-natured person, who loved his family very much. He loved working outside in his garden and yard. Mr. Hall was a well-dressed man, who loved to wear his boots and starched jeans.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers; Denver Hall, Maxie Hall, Charles Hall and Ealon Hall Jr., a sister; Jeanette Adams.
Survivors are his wife, Patsy M. Hall of Summit, a son and daughter-in-law, Jarrette Dewayne Hall and Carol Cowart Hall of Summit, a daughter; Patti Welch of Summit, a sister; Artie Lea of Brookhaven, five grandchildren; Misty Stockton, Jeremy Stockton and his wife Ashley, Amy Stockton, Daniel Hall and his wife Kamree, and Dori Steele and her husband Justin, nine great- grandchildren; Tylin Crum, Abby Crum, Delaney Crum, Ty Hall, Kylee Rae Hall, Cort Hall, Wyatt Hall, Addisyn Steele and Harper Hale, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Phil Hall, Buddy Hall, Jimmy Hall, Daniel Hall, Laron Lea and Jeremy Stockton.
Honorary pallbearer will be Rufus Lea.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus of Lincoln County in Mr. Hall’s memory.
