A.J. ‘Jack’ Lowe Jr.

Funeral services for A.J. “Jack” Lowe Jr. were Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Riverwood Family  Funeral Service with burial in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Riverwood.

Mr. Lowe, 91, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at his residence. He was a dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for approximately 50 years and served as a deacon.

He worked for Exxon for 20 years and then for Paul Revere Insurance Company for 22 years before retiring. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed these activities with family members and good friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew J. Lowe Sr. and Carlie Thomas Lowe; sister, Louise L. Kaiser and husband, Bill; and brother, Bobby G. Lowe.

Survivors are his wife, Aline M. Lowe; his daughter, Jeanette L. Smith and husband, Phil; sons, Kenneth E. Lowe and wife, Sherry, Mark E. Lowe and wife, Becky; sister-in-law, Nelywn Lowe; grandchildren, Micah Lowe and wife, Stephany, Anna L. Lee and husband, Brent, Erica Smith, Scotty Thaxton and wife, Maggie, Brittany Harveston and husband, Bob; and ten great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Beverly Britt, Jawana Russell and the staff of Hospice Ministries who assisted in caring for Lowe during his difficult days.
