A Funeral Mass for Michael A. Poe will be held on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church at 3847 N. Sutter Street in Stockton, California. DeYoung Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Poe, 50, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016. He was born in California to Gus Poe and Liz Asborno-Trainor.
Mr. Poe leaves behind a large extended family and many beloved friends. He was grew up in Brookhaven, where he lived until 1987. He is a 1984 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a 1987 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He worked in customer service and retail sales for more than 30 years. Mr. Poe volunteered many hours to charities, including the United Way Community Grant Program, Lowe’s Hero Program, the Knights of Columbus, and many others. He served as board member and president of the Stockton Symphony Alliance.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Gus Poe and Liz Asborno-Trainor.
He is survived by his sister, Christine Robinson, and husband, Stewart; and family Don Trainor, Cheryl Mussa and husband, Tony and Jeff Trainor.
