Brookhaven’s Katie Dixon advanced to the next round of Fox’s culinary reality show MasterChef Wednesday.

Dixon, 33, used the ingredients in her mystery box to prepare a Latin-inspired dish for judges Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi, who were joined by celebrity guest judge Aaron Sanchez.

“This challenge was so much fun,” Dixon said. “I used almost every ingredient in the mystery box. I love cooking with all the different flavors in the mystery box.”

For the elimination round, contestants were tasked with baking a pie.

Dixon picked peanut butter as her main ingredient.

“They really liked my pie,” she said.

Dixon, the daughter of Henry and Vickie Newman of Brookhaven, will go head-to-head with the remaining 16 contestants Wednesday in the next MasterChef episode.
