Daily Leader staff members picked up several awards at the Mississippi Press Association’s annual convention in Biloxi Saturday.

The newspaper won first place awards in the Front Page and Graphics categories. The judges described the winning front page  as a “great presentation of the Page 1 editorial and  strong work overall. Attractive and inviting.”

The newspaper also won  a second-place award in the Graphics category and third-place award in the Design category. Publisher Luke Horton received a second-place award in the Editorials category. Former reporter Kaitlin Mullins won third place in the Feature Photo category.

Brookhaven Magazine also won third place in the Magazine Periodical category.

The newspaper competed against other daily newspapers in the state with similar circulation.
