The Brookhaven Police Department arrested two individuals allegedly involved in several vehicle burglaries over the last week.
Police Chief Bobby Bell said BPD arrested Corbin Thompson Allen, 18, and Joel Shandon Alexander, 23, Tuesday in connection with vehicle burglaries on Crestview Circle, W. Chickasaw Street and Richmond Trail
Allen and Alexander were driving through neighborhoods checking for unlocked vehicles, Bell said. The two individuals retrieved merchandise including, cameras, wallets, sunglasses, a shotgun, prescription medication, cell phones and money, he said. Many of the items have been recovered since the arrest, Bell said.
Bell encourages people to make sure their vehicles stay locked. BPD would like to thank the community members who assisted in identifying the two individuals with the use of their personal surveillance cameras, he said.
