Lady Panthers place fourth, boys sixth in state run

CLINTON – The Brookhaven Panthers and Lady Panthers finished strong in the Class 5A cross-country state championship run at Choctaw Trails Monday.
In the varsity girls 5K run, the Lady Panthers finished in fourth overall among 13 teams. Miyah Miller placed in the top 14 with a ninth place finished with a time of 21:44. Other runners were: Gracie Gray 18th (23:22), Jordan Fries 38th (24:48), Hannah Junkin 40th (24:53), Mary Rhea Waterloo 42nd (25:07), Carley Craig 44th (25:19) and Abby Roberts 59th (26:30).
In the varsity boys 5K run, the Panthers took home sixth place overall among 13 teams participating. Adrian Lockwood led Brookhaven with a 16th place finish with a time of 18:43. Antonio Dillon came in at 19th place with a time of 18:56. Other BHS runners were: Caleb McCreary 36th (19:47), Jacob Britt 58th (20:44), Andrew Knott 64th (20:52), Noah Spear 84th (22:04) and Jonas Raguse 90th (22:10).
