Armed robbery court case pushed back

The case of a Brookhaven man who racked up five felony charges in one night in May 2014 was continued until Jan. 12.
Jawon D. Williams, 23, of 632 North Sixth St., was indicted Nov. 24, 2014, for conspiracy to commit armed robbery, burglary of a dwelling, two counts of armed robbery and aggravated assault. A joint motion was filed on Oct. 19 to move the court hearing from Oct. 27 to Jan. 12, to allow both the defense and the prosecution to follow up on records that have been subpoenaed but not received as of the day it was filed.
Williams’ indictment states that on or before May 23, 2014, in Lincoln County, Williams and Alvin B. Franklin did conspire and agree with each other to commit the crime of armed robbery.
Count two of the indictment states that on or about May 23, 2014, Franklin and Williams acted together to break into and enter the dwelling house of Walter M. Owens under circumstances likely to terrorize Owens and Meyanna Franklin, who were in the house at the time of the invasion, by forcing open an outer door of the house, with the intent to commit armed robbery.
Count three of the indictment describes Franklin and Williams acting together to take from the presence of Owens and against his will cash and a Pantech 300 cell phone by putting Owens in fear of immediate injury to his person by displaying a deadly weapon, to wit: a firearm.
Count four states Franklin and Williams took from Meyanna Franklin a Dooney & Bourke handbag and an iPhone 4, also by displaying and exhibiting a deadly weapon and putting her in fear of immediate injury.
The last count states on the same night as part of the same incident, Franklin and Williams struck Owens in the face with a deadly weapon, a firearm. The indictment states that all alleged conduct in counts one through five are based on two or more acts connected together.
