Flooding closes portions of roadways

The flash flood watch for Lincoln County has expired, according to the National Weather Service. A flash flood warning was issued and then expired overnight.
Lincoln County has received 6 to 8 inches of rainfall in the last 24 hours, according to the NWS.
Some street flooding was seen around Brookhaven. A portion of W. Congress Street was closed due to flooding this morning.
A portion of Bethel Road near the bridge over Parnell Creek remains closed due to high water.
A flood warning has been issued for the Homochitto River at Rosetta in Franklin County.
