Enterprise (3-2), coached by Brooks Burns, returns to the gridiron after enjoying a bye last week to begin its Region 7-2A race.
This week, the Jackets will celebrate homecoming as they welcome their new Region 7-2A rivals, the Prentiss Bulldogs, to Harry Cole Field.
The Bulldogs (2-4), coached by Tim McNair, dropped a tough 32-30 decision last week to the West Marion Trojans in Prentiss.
Jalen Madison directed the Bulldogs’ offense last week, completing 6-of-12 passes for 39 yards. Madison also rushed for 21 yards on 16 carries. Anthony Walker was the top receiver for Prentiss with two catches for 35 yards. Tim McNair Jr. caught two passes for 21 yards.
Quentin Herring and Walker directed the Bulldogs’ defense with six tackles each. Jordan Reese and Demazie Mikell had five stops each.
Enterprise’s top offensive performer against McLaurin – two weeks ago – was sophomore running back Tanner Waldrop with 13 carries for 192 yards rushing. Wesley Blazier contributed eight rushes for 73 yards.
Zach Hodges completed two passes for 72 yards. Brant White caught one pass for 40 yards and Waldrop caught the second pass for 32 yards.
Defensively, Skylar Pritchard paced Enterprise with nine tackles. Devin Kirtfield and Hodge contributed five stops apiece. Braxton Thompson, Drake Allen, Trestan Grenn and Brant White had three tackles each.
My prediction: Prentiss spoils Enterprise’s homecoming with a 42-28 victory.
