The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, in coordination with the District Attorney’s office, recently served four more indictments from the most recent grand jury session.
Tuwanika Faya Cleve, 31, of 48 Jerrytown Road, Monticello, was indicted Sept. 8 for aggravated assault. Cleve was served Sept. 25 and is out on bond.
The indictment states Cleve caused bodily injury to Jatavis Berry when she punctured Berry’s scalp with a deadly weapon — a barbecue fork. The indictment states Cleve threw the barbecue fork into an area occupied by several persons including Berry.
When the grand jury agrees the evidence is sufficient to establish the commission of a crime, it returns an indictment endorsed by the grand jury foreman with the phrase “true bill” to indicate the information presented is sufficient to justify the trial of the suspect.
The following indictment was served Sept. 24:
• Jeffrey L. Carithers, 24, 972 Hastings Lane, was indicted for credit card fraud. Carithers is out on bond.
The following indictments were served Sept. 25:
• Lorenzo Davon White, 25, 721 Ole Brook Road, was indicted for unlawful possession of 1 kg or more of marijuana with intent to distribute. White is out on bond.
• Clifton Nicholas Ellis, 26, 1965 New Sight Drive, was indicted for felony fleeing law enforcement. Ellis is out on bond.
