Bogue Chitto (0-5, 0-1), coached by Gareth Sartin, suffered a tough 43-14 Region 4-1A loss last week to the Stringer Red Devils at Troy Smith Field.
This week, the Bobcats will travel to Walthall County to battle district rival, the Salem Wildcats.
The Wildcats (1-3) are returning to the field after enjoying an open date last week. Salem was defeated by Stringer 28-12, two weeks ago.
BC’s top offensive performer last week was quarterback Connor Douglas, who completed 12-of-20 passes for 150 yards. D.J. Nunnery led Bogue Chitto in rushing with four catches for 64 yards.
Defensively, Sherman Jackson led the Bobcats with 11 tackles. Kody Halford contributed with 10 tackles. Kobe Roberts provided nine tackles. Terrance Morgan and Chris Taylor had seven tackles apiece.
Last year, Salem roared past Bogue Chitto 46-7 at Troy Smith Field.
My prediction: Home field advantage will give Salem a 28-14 edge.
