Wesson (2-1), coached by Ronald Greer, captured its second win of the season with a 44-8 win over the Bogue Chitto Bobcats Friday night at Stone Stadium.
This week, the Cobras are looking to continue their winning streak as they prepare to visit Seminary to battle the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs (1-2), coached by Brian Rials, captured their first win of the season with an impressive 40-0 win over North Forrest last week at home.
Seminary’s offense orchestrated a balanced attack against North Forrest as sophomore quarterback Tyveron Morgan led the passing attack by completing 3-of-4 passes for 69 yards.
Junior running back Javaris Crosby rushed for 60 yards on four carries. Wendell Crosby caught one pass for 35 yards and Charles Barnes caught a pass for 27 yards.
Wesson’s top offensive performer last week was Jermaine James with five carries for 71 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Jemarcus Patterson had six rushes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Eric Rhymes provided seven rushes for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Danion Frye paced the Cobras with four tackles. Kendric Brown had three stops.
Last year, the Bulldogs defeated the Cobras at Stone Stadium 34-6.
My prediction: The Cobras will beat Seminary 27-24.
